Great place to watch Keirin, although we missed the races. I will return at the end of August. But general impressions are: the security staff are very helpful. The main area as you enter is clean and well maintained. As the stadium was about to close, they have a variety of food stands and restaurants on the main ground floor area. I managed to see the race track area. It was amazing! Hopefully i can enjoy seeing it at the end of the month.
This was a very "local" way to see a keirin race. No one speaks English but you don't need it. It was only 100¥ to get in and there was some concession food available if you want it. The track is nicely kept and the races are fun to watch but the pace is slow when it's not a major race. Still a fun way to see a style of racing that is very big in Japan.
A fun way to spend an afternoon. Can byob. If you bet 100 yen on a few races and watch them compete, you might make your money back. But mostly just a fun experience of bubble-era Japan.
My favorite place 🚴🏽♂️ …
I went there for the first time in about 5 years, and the backstand section was closed to the public.🤨 Also, I was surprised that you couldn't enter from the parking lot of the early morning section. There were some young customers😁 …
There are cleaning staff who are always picking up trash, and security guards will warn people who don't follow the rules, so you can feel safe.
I came to the velodrome for the first time in a while.
In the afternoon, I had something to do near Matsudo Station, so I had some adult fun at the Matsudo Velodrome.
Perfectly accessible, just 2 minutes walk from Kitamatsudo Station.
It's a relatively beautiful velodrome.
There is also an old-fashioned kiosk run by an old lady, making it a typical bicycle track.
I went there for the first time in a few years and was surprised at how beautifully it had been renovated. In recent years, all the velodromes have been renovated and are so clean that the Showa era feeling has faded, and it feels somewhat lonely.
